#21: Mistakes Happen
As the famous poet Alexander Pope once wrote, “To err is human, to forgive divine.” This line was written in the 18th century and is still relevant today. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s important to forgive others and ourselves without dwelling on what could have been done differently. What’s done is done.
Mistakes are great learning opportunities, too. Messing up can help us figure out what not to do next time we’re in a particular situation. Remember, though, that you shouldn’t dwell and become full of regret. The only thing you can do is try to prevent future mistakes from happening. Evaluate, adjust your behavior accordingly, and move forward.
