#16: You Don’t Matter
This piece of advice may seem harsh, but it’s actually liberating if you think about it. The truth is, people are never thinking about you as much as you think they are. In fact, the people you have brief encounters and acquaintances with probably aren’t thinking about you AT ALL. This is actually a good thing!
When you realize that you don’t matter to most strangers you encounter, you can stress way less. Don’t overthink your awkward or embarrassing moments. Chances are you’re the only one who remembers them. Get what you need from others, be kind, and move on. You will fade into the background of other people’s lives, and that’s awesome.
