#6: Vintage Wayfinding
It’s hard to imagine wayfinding without smartphones and direction apps. Can you believe that we used to navigate new areas with nothing but a paper map? Map reading seems to be an archaic skill these days. Back before technology was in our back pocket, we all relied on paper maps in the glove box.

If you were really fancy, you had one of those spiral map books. Those things were a goldmine of information! Sure, it took longer to find your way if you were lost, but that was part of the adventure. Now, there’s a very slim margin for error when our phone robot tells us where to go. Where’s the fun in that?
