How it Ended
Tragically, their relationship came to a sudden and horrific end on February 21, 2001. On this night, Kutcher had planned to take Ellerin to a post-Grammy Awards party. When he arrived at her home, he found the door locked and no response from Ellerin.
Assuming she had gone out without him, he left. The next day, it was discovered that Ellerin had been brutally murdered in her home. This shocking and devastating event deeply affected Kutcher, who later testified in the 2019 trial of Michael Gargiulo, the man eventually convicted of Ellerin’s murder.
