#32: X-Ray
Do you ever think about how crazy X-rays are? I mean, who could ever have figured out that if you pass certain radiation through the body onto certain surfaces, it will leave behind impressions of the bones? Wilhelm Roentgen, that’s who!
But he wasn’t attempting to create an imaging system for the internal body. He was simply messing around with radiation when he accidentally discovered its strange ability to tell us what our bones look like. And now we all get to benefit from his invention and its many medical uses. The least we could do is know his name.
