If you ask us, secondhand shops get a bad rap. So many people don’t realize the absolute gems they can find at secondhand stores! On the other hand, we readily admit that some questionable items are also available for sale there. In a way, that’s what makes thrift store shopping so fun; the stock changes constantly, and you never know what surprises you’re going to find. It’s a little bit like gambling that way. People online like to share and boast their thrift store finds, and we’ve fathered some of our favorite; just try not to get jealous.

#1: For Book Lovers
Stephen King’sThe Shining is arguably one of the scariest books ever written. So stumbling across a copy of it at a secondhand store doesn’t seem all that unusual. After all, it is one of the best-selling books of all time. What is remarkable, though, is finding a copy signed by the author!

This person was incredibly lucky to find a copy that Stephen King had signed in 1981, one year after the blockbuster film adaptation was released. Of course, a book signed by the author is usually pretty valuable, but one that was also a bestseller is worth tons of money. The best part? This lucky buyer purchased it for only $1.99! Talk about a steal!
