#10: It Was Great While it Lasted
New Year’s resolutions—who needs ’em? Well, we all do because we’re all works in progress. It doesn’t mean we’re necessarily good at them, though, and it’s always a struggle to make changes. The trick is to give yourself small milestone obtainable goals rather than a big jump immediately. But let’s be honest: On December 31st, we’re all brimming with that ‘New Year, New Me’ enthusiasm.
Then comes January 1st, and it’s as if all our lofty ambitions hit a snooze button. Wrapped up like a burrito in the comforter of ‘Oh well,’ we realize that maybe the ‘new me’ can start tomorrow. Or perhaps the day after. Or maybe Monday; everyone knows real change respects the sanctity of weekends.
