#23: You Aren’t a Free Therapist
It’s important to realize that while you may provide emotional support for your friends and loved ones, you’re not a professional therapist. If you’re empathetic, many of your friends probably come to you for advice or to vent about their problems. They may not even realize it, but they could depend on you too much.

Venting to you and wanting your advice may be helpful, but you cannot be an endless source of free therapy. It’s not up to you to solve everyone else’s problems. If they truly need more serious help with an issue, they can hire a professionally trained therapist.
