#30: Nameless, TN
Don’t be confused if you spot Nameless, Tennesse, on a map. The town indeed has a name: Nameless. The mapmakers didn’t get lazy. The town got its unique name because its founders couldn’t agree on a name, so when they filled out their paperwork and sent it to Washington, they left the name blank. Washington sent it back labeled “Nameless,” and the name stuck!

Central to the lore of this town is its old General Store. After its heyday in the 1950s, it had shut down, but the deceased owner’s son restored it to its original glory. However, he only opens the store four days each year, so be sure to time your visit right. In those days, the store became a big hangout for the townsfolk.
