#40: White Tower
White Tower was known for its white exterior and waitresses dressed up as nurses to promote a clean and hygienic atmosphere in the restaurant. The fast food chain originally opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but by the end of its second year of operation had six other locations.

The chain soon franchised and eventually grew to 230 locations across the country. Many of these restaurants were conveniently placed near train stations and other transportation stops, making them a great snack on the road or after a long day at work. The last location, in Toledo, closed its doors in 2004.
