#34: Gino’s Hamburgers
Who would have guessed that a football player could open and run such a successful fast-food chain? The Colts’ defensive end Gino Marchetti founded his own restaurant with teammate Alan Ameche in Baltimore, Maryland, in the late 1950s. Their staple menu items were burgers and chicken.

Throughout their run, the chain had 359 restaurants nationwide until Marriott bought them out. The new owners then decided to drop the name Gino’s and rebrand the restaurants as Roy Rogers – a few of which are still around today.
