How to get Healthy and Voluminous Hair

If you want healthy and voluminous hair, approach it from both the inside and the outside to strengthen it.

Do you want healthy and voluminous hair? With all the products and styling tools we expose it to, it is normal for the hair to become weak and lifeless over time. What is not normal is to do absolutely nothing at all to take care of it, and that is exactly what we will address here.

How can you get healthy and voluminous hair?

1. Strengthen your hair

First of all, it is very important not to wait if you have weak and lifeless hair. There is still something you can do about it. But something that does not have a solution is when you let it die completely and do nothing about it.

The first thing we recommend is that when you notice that your hair has become weak and brittle, replace the hair products you use. Look for products that build up the hair follicles, because that means your hair will grow strongly from the roots.

Some of the most recommended “rebuilding” products are those made with arginine, a compound that is good for strengthening hair.

2. Nourish your hair

Your hair is not only weakened by external factors. There are also internal factors such as genetics or hormones that over time can cause the hair to lose vitality. One way to deal with the internal factors is to eat a good diet, one where your body gets the nutrients needed to give your hair vitality.

The following are the nutrients you should have in your diet if you want beautiful and voluminous hair:

Iron and copper: Be sure to include foods in your diet such as spinach, nuts, seafood, wheat pasta, oatmeal, eggs, basil, avocado, strawberries, figs and sugar-free chocolate. They will keep your hair in good condition.
Vitamin B: Foods such as tuna, natural yogurt, potatoes, kale, beer yeast and turkey breast prevent hair from falling off and turning gray.
Zinc: Available in pumpkin seeds, wheat sprouts, watermelon and dark chocolate.
Other nutrients that are good for your hair are: Vitamin E, dairy products rich in vitamin B5 and omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in particularly large amounts in cold-water fish.

Homemade treatments to get voluminous hair

Homemade solutions are never a bad idea if you are well informed. The advantage is that the ingredients are easy to find and are generally budget-friendly. Here are some of the best home-made treatments to turn your lifeless, weak hair into brilliant, voluminous hair.

1. Gelatin

Thanks to its high collagen content, gelatin is one of the best ingredients for strengthening your hair. At the same time it promotes hair volume and thickness.

  • 2 tablespoons tasteless gelatin powder (20 g)
  • 2 ½ dl hot water
  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel (15 g)
  • 4 drops of essential rosemary oil

Preparation and application

  • Add all the ingredients except gelatin to warm water. When they have dissolved, add the gelatin and wait until the mixture has the right consistency.
  • To apply, soak your hair with warm water, apply the mixture and then cover your hair with a shower cap.
  • After 30 minutes, rinse your hair with plenty of water.
  • You can use the regimen twice a week to increase hair volume.

2. Hair mask with mayonnaise, aloe vera and tomato

  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel (15 g)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (40 g)
  • The pulp from a ripe tomato

Preparation and application

Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well with a fork until you have a well-mixed, relatively thick cream.
To apply, soak the hair, divide the mixture into it and leave to work for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, rinse your hair with plenty of water and use your usual conditioner.
