#38: Slip ‘N Slide
This next story is crazy because it shows us the great lengths that kids will go to to have fun. Robert Carrier’s son turned the hose on their driveway one day so that he and his friends could slide down it. I don’t care how much water is on that thing; sliding across concrete sounds terrible and painful.

Robert thought the same thing, so he spread waterproof vinyl fabric across the driveway so that the kids could slide more comfortably. It worked so well that he later decided to patent it. Thus, the Slip ‘N Slide—that staple of so many summer days and water parties—was born.
