A nice makeup starts with a perfect base. But finding the right shade or products is not easy. Follow our guide to a natural makeup base that lasts all day.
1. Primer with primer
A primer is the best base for sustainable makeup. It makes the subsequent products adhere properly and makes your foundation last longer during the day. For best results with primer, apply it to cleaned and moisturized skin. Be sure to let your face cream sink in for a few minutes before applying.
There are primers for all skin types. If you have dry skin, choose a moisturizing primer. For oily skin, it is best to use a primer that gives a matte finish.
2. Apply a good foundation
Finding the right shade on your foundation that suits your skin type is crucial for a perfect makeup base. You can consult a beauty expert for help finding the right foundation for your particular needs.
There are different ways to apply a foundation, how you do is a matter of taste. The heat from the fingers makes the color blend well into the skin, while the mushrooms and brushes make it easier to adjust the coverage and get a smooth surface. To avoid ugly edges at the jawline, you can pull your foundation down a bit to tone it down to your natural skin tone.
3. Cover with concealer
Apply a concealer where you need more coverage, such as red areas around the nose, small blisters and dark circles under the eyes. A thin liquid concealer with light reflecting particles is best suited to hide dark circles under the eyes. If you want your concealer to cover blemishes in the first place, it is better if it is creamy. Be sure to choose the right shade on your concealer so that it is as close to your own skin tone as possible.
4. Fix with pillows
Now it’s time to fix your makeup with a powder to keep it in place all day – or night! A transparent loose powder is best suited as it is easy to apply and get even. In addition, a transparent powder does not give any color that can change the look.
First, apply the loose powder with a powder puff that you press against the skin. Then go over with a powder brush to remove excess powder. Then you get a smooth and fine surface. Then supplement with a bronzer, rouge or highlighter on the cheekbones and nose.
5. Finish with setting spray
If you want to further fix the makeup, you can finish by applying a setting spray all over the face. It moisturizes the skin and makes sure that the makeup blends nicely and prevents it from flaking during the day. Be sure to keep it away from your face as you spray.
Now you have the perfect base for your makeup!
